or is it witness to our path
can you make it suddenly?
the distinction of what is "me"

in your ashes, i seal the rain
when collapsing into what is stained
draining passion & thieving through
simple surveys of what i knew
the youthful brigade, clearing visions chewed
another stone chained to the vermin in you

with perspective so skewed
of the studying past
with no blame to last"
when reaching out to what we fail to understand
never circumstance but anguish in your hands
[what can we forge? what can we tell?
what did we use to create this hell?
can we tether the scion that hangs to try
the fallen pieces of forgotten hides
why did we point? how did we know?
did i ever search in the nether glow?
no restful memories that come to mind
eternal scapegoats should be left to die]
on reflection - i want to become anew
the agony imagined, never lying in truth
[plight of the caused, drink from the scar
inflicted to self, weary head full of health
can you fly on the version of art no longer
exposed as a nothing sealed in ignorance
secure in the fusion of one becoming one more
expression ignited]
immersion of the feeling that buries itself
in your heart? in the dark? the simple striving
to understand how i felt so real (and everlasting)

wanting to inhale the mirth
the feed that is growing
in a valley of hurt
a shallow decay
blind by the curse of the health
a shimmering soil -
taken for what was far
not suffering in what's charred
metaphors of haunted tales now left to fade
wasted ages met the sorrow in this escape
all simple leftovers worth folding in our hands
polite in gratitude just worthy to understand
is it worth fighting for
the search for something more
to conquer and divide
but never heard inside
into me, i felt the pleasantry
nothing is ever free
in this life
can you look and see
what we're all wondering
colliding in fury and sight
worn in the shadow
wiring the certitude
allow this to fall through
"and never become unknown"
"again"
"taken for my pride and jewel"
[elevation summoning the pictures played into my head
the waiting fire warming all the sickened lives that touch the core
in fertile lands we plant the flag to sink all plagues that we thought we had
another world free of hate and flack, the spirits within all left intact]
metaphors of haunted tales were once felt today
wasted ages left the sorrow in this escape

Sad yet hopeful is what this album sounds like. Every sadness album sounds like that honestly. Like things might be shit right now but they can always get better if you’re willing to let them. Sadness has a way of making music that’s mega depressing but doesn’t add to your depression it seems to acknowledge it and reminds you of the things that make your life worth living. This album specifically does this perfectly and is probably my favorite sadness release. please let it get physical release

A punky shoegaze experience from both sides of the split. There is a lot of energy here that superficially feels joyful, however after several listens an underlying melancholy is appreciated. A unique and emotional presentation. 7/10
